The Cahul court decided to place in house arrest six police officers of the Cahul Police Inspectorate, detained on February 2 for passive corruption and abuse of office.

In the case of the seventh police officer, judicial control was ordered with the prohibition of leaving the country. The criminal investigation started at the end of October 2020, after the Southern Territorial General Directorate of the Anti-corruption Office was notified by a resident of Crihana Veche village, Cahul district.

He complained that he was stopped by a crew of IP Cahul and that he was asked for a bribe of 300 euros for not being documented for driving a motorcycle while drunk and without a driving license.
