A policeman from the Police Inspectorate Criuleni was arrested Thursday, November 5, by officers of the National Anti-Corruption Centre (CNA) and by prosecutors for allegedly claimed and received 300 euros from one man to change his procedural status in a criminal case: from suspect for attempted theft in witness.
The police started a criminal case for passive corruption. The man might face up to ten years in prison. Currently, the policeman is in the custody of CNA as he is detained for 72 hours.
A number of 60 MAI employees are involved in corruption cases as of the beginning of the year, runs a press release issued by CNA.
