The leader of the Șansă political party, Alexei Lungu, did not escape the 1,200 lei fine imposed by the first instance court after a scuffle with the police. The Chișinău Court of Appeal, Centru branch, upheld the decision of the Chișinău Court, Buiucani office. On June 14, 2024, in the Ștefan cel Mare Public Garden, Lungu snatched identification documents from a police officer's hand, which belonged to individuals undergoing an ID verification procedure. During the trial, the Șansă leader’s lawyer claimed that, on the contrary, his client had been subjected to abuse.

Alexei Lungu is known for his altercations with law enforcement. In July 2024, during protests in front of the Buiucani Court, where the case of Governor Evghenia Guțul was being examined, he was escorted to the General Police Inspectorate after allegedly refusing to comply with the requirement to maintain an appropriate distance from the institution.

The president of the court had addressed a formal request to the police, asking that the protest be held at a distance of 25 meters from the courthouse. Otherwise, it would be considered "interference in the institution’s activity." The police informed the attendees of this request and asked for compliance. One of the participants, however, showed disrespect by refusing to obey and acting aggressively toward law enforcement, also damaging public property. As a result, he was taken to the police station for both administrative and criminal documentation, the police announced.

Lungu posted several videos of the moment he was detained, claiming that he was pushed and hit. He also said the police officers did not explain the reason for his detention.

In January 2024, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) published a report on the financing of the electoral campaign of the Șansă Political Party. The party spent over 3.1 million lei during the campaign, of which 2.9 million came from 483 donors. The report revealed several irregularities, leading to the initiation of contravention proceedings.
