Victor Bogatico, mayor of the town Rascani and his accomplice were arrested by CNA officers and Anti-corruption prosecutors on suspicion of traffic of influence. The denouncer said the two asked for and received US$5,000 for favoring him at an auction to sell a building located in Rascani.

Victor Bogatico was  head of the tender commission, writes Moldova Curata, thus violating the legal regime of conflict of interests. This case was investigated by CNI and the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office. After examination by the media and law enforcement institutions, the auction results were annulled.

In the declaration of assets for 2013, Victor Bogatico indicates a total income of 80,000 lei from the salary of mayor. He did not indicate other property, house or car.
