On International Anti-Corruption Day, marked on Friday, Transparency International - Moldova (TI-Moldova) made the totals of the contest "Reflecting the phenomenon of corruption by the mass media" and launched the collection of anti-corruption journalistic investigations. The jury awarded second place to the investigative journalist, Julieta Savițchi, for a series of investigations published on Anticoruptie.md, in which corruption schemes and embezzlement of public funds were uncovered.

In another investigation, Julieta Savițchi showed how the family of the deputy general prosecutor, Ruslan Popov, under criminal investigation for illicit enrichment, controls, in addition to the orchard and the refrigerator in Mileştii Mici, a third of an agricultural business in Brăviceni village, Orhei district.

The journalist also uncovered the scheme by which the Westerby Limited company from the Bahamas sponsored the Socialist Party of the Republic of Moldova.
