Former Georgian President Mihail Saakasvili, current governor of Odessa region, pointed that the case of former Prime Minister Vlad Filat would have signs of selective justice. "I wish very much that this does not turn into selective justice when a group obtained levers and arrested the leader of the other group. Like many others, I believe so", the official told reporters of the Anticorruption portal of the Center for Investigative Journalism.

Saakasvili believes that to prove the truth, it is necessary to research over all circumstances of the case. "In addition, absolutely everyone must be punished. When everyone is held to account, including representatives of other groups, people will believe in justice", said the former president of Georgia.

Mihail Saakasvili participated on Monday, December 7, in the opening of the Winter School for exchange in cross-border investigative journalism MUTE @ Corruption.

The friendship between Saakashvili and Vlad Filat is well known to the public, the two politicians participated together in several events. For example, in summer 2013, former President of Georgia delivered a speech in Chisinau under the Summit of the European People's Party. The Liberal-Democratic Party from Moldova, led by Vlad Filat in that period was affiliated to the European People’s Party. The following evening, the two leaders together with the PM in that period Iurie Leanca and several supporters of PLDM had fun in a luxury club in the capital. In December, the same year, Filat and Saakasvili gave speeches in the central square in Kiev in support of protesters calling for Ukraine's rapprochement with the European Union.
