Moldova and Georgia, common front against disinformation

The President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met on Friday with Ilia Darchiashvili, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, who is on a working visit to Chisinau. The discussion focused on the bilateral agenda, cooperation in the context of European integration, and the security situation in the region.

The head of state mentioned that the war in the neighboring country seriously affects our energy and economic security, and emphasized that unity and solidarity between states are needed to respond to current challenges. In this context, the officials expressed their determination to continue helping Ukraine in its fight for freedom and to support the refugees who are now in Moldova and Georgia as well.

President Maia Sandu also spoke for Moldovan-Georgian cooperation in the fight against disinformation, which represents a serious danger to any democratic country.
