The Public Services Agency made public the list of beneficiaries of the 2% mechanism for 2020. The list includes 844 public organizations, foundations, private institutions and religious entities, by 15% more than in 2019. Starting with 2020, the Centre of Investigative Journalism is also the beneficiary of the 2% mechanism and tax payers can support us by redirecting to our Organization 2% of the amount of income tax obtained in the previous year.
The number of beneficiaries has increased for both categories of non-commercial organizations that can apply for the 2% mechanism, according to the Legal Resources Centre of Moldova. The number of public associations, foundations and private institutions increased by 15%, from 634 to 732, and the number of religious entities and their component parts increased by 14%, from 98 to 112. The 844 beneficiaries included in the list are organizations that operate for at least one year, do not have debts to the national public budget for previous fiscal periods and carry out public/social, moral, cultural or charity activities.
The list contains the state identification number (IDNO/tax code) of the organization, full name and the address of the Organization (locality, street, office, postal code). Organizations that are in the list of 2% beneficiaries can already start the campaign to inform and attract supporters, as the period for filing statement on income tax and, implicitly for percentage designation started on 1 January 2020 and will last by the end of April.
Non-commercial organizations apply for the 2% mechanism, as they need to diversify the funding sources and related advantages: collection of additional funds, attracting new supporters of its activity, promoting philanthropy, etc.
