The European Union announced it would provide financial support to families across Moldova in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
As part of this initiative, all families with children under the age of five – including those living abroad – will receive a one-time payment of 1,500 lei (€77). Additionally, families caring for children or adults with disabilities will receive 5,000 lei (€260).
The payments will be made by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, together with the National Social Insurance House (CNAS), starting on 2 May.
The financial support includes:
Funds will be distributed through social cards. If families do not have one, the money will be transferred to active bank cards held by family members. If no active card is available, payments can be collected at local post offices.
For citizens living abroad, authorities will identify active bank cards issued in Moldova. If no such card is available, the funds can be picked up at post offices until the end of the year. If this is not possible, a family member can collect the money on their behalf with a notarised authorisation issued at a Moldovan consulate.
For more information or inquiries, please contact the National Social Insurance House via the hotline at 022 28 61 15.
