Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office initiated criminal proceedings on Judge Domnica Manole. On Wednesday, June 22, the judges ordered to raise the computer from the office of the magistrate. Domnica Manole says that the prosecutors took this decision though she does not have the locus of suspect.

"The Anticorruption Prosecution has raised from the Chisinau Court of Appeal my assistant's computer, as well as the civil file at the request of the Initiative Group for the unfolding of the constitutional republican referendum against the Central Electoral Commission on the CEC decision cancellation", writes a statement signed by the judge.

Domnica Manole announced that she registered on June 13 2016 at the Supreme Court of Justice the request for summons on the cancellation of the Superior Council of Magistrates (CSM) decisions from May, 31, 2016, through which the CSM had approved the criminal investigation. “Moreover, once with the request for summons, on June, 13, 2016 I registered the request on the suspension of the legal effects provided by the CSM Decision from May, 31, 2016, through which it was agreed the initiation of the criminal investigation and the criminal liability. But my request on the suspension of the legal effects provided by the CSM Decision from May, 31, 2016, till the examination of my case by the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ), is ignored, although the CSJ was obliged to examine the request of provision of the action within one day from the submission and to issue a conclusion on my request’, writes the statement.

Members of the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) ruled that Domnica Manole, magistrate of the Court of Appeal is prosecuted for having adopted a decision obliging the Central Election Commission (CEC) to initiate a referendum on direct presidential elections, at the initiative of Platform Dignity and Truth. According to the complaint submitted to the CSM by the interim general prosecutor Eduard Harunjen, the judge issued an unlawful decision and misused duties of Constitution interpretation.
