If the candidate of the Party Platform Dignity and Truth Andrei Nastase is elected president, he will not pardon businessmen Victor and Viorel Topa, convicted in several criminal cases. According to the politician, this would mean that the two businessmen admit their guilt. This was discussed in a debate organized under the campaign “Transparent Presidential Elections”. Andrei Nastase announced that Viorel Topa was convicted again on Thursday, September 29, to nine years in prison for use of forgery and money laundering in large proportions. The court cumulated this term with a previous conviction and he was condemned to 15 years of detention.

"They will not ask for pardoning because they consider themselves victims. It would mean that they admit their guilt. ECHR will give the decision", said Andrei Nastase.

Also, leader of PPDA denied that the two businessmen finance the party. “The funds of the party are public. There are fees, and I said that the members of PPDA are people of different social categories and it is illegally to force someone to pay the fee. People are poor. We benefit from donations from members of this party and our advocates in most of cases. Currently, some wealthy people made donations. For example, Aliona Mandatii, the owner of orchards in northern Moldova and Alexandru Machedon, owner of Star Net company", said the politician.

Andrei Nastase spoke about the bank fraud. He stressed that Victor and Viorel Topa would testify in the investigation that had been initiated in the US on the theft of a billion dollars in the banking system in Moldova, as Mihail Gofman did. Leader of PPDA argues that in his last trip to US, he was heard in Washington and sent many important documents. "Today, I readied a set of documents, court letters, some of them were made public, others not. They relate to the direction and chronology of the theft. As a lawyer I disclosed many things, I discovered them either from certain sources or I sent letters to the Supreme Security Council. There are people in the system who give you some documents, because a part of people from this system want to get rid of this corrupt system", said Andrei Nastase.

According to him, the final beneficiaries of "Russian laundery" are Vladimir Plahotniuc and Veaceslav Platon. “An independent general prosecutor must investigate into this theft, though the transfers were made only with the institutions controlled by Vlad Plahotniuc. Plahotniuc could do the "Laundromat” without Platon, but without Plahotniuc - impossible", said the candidate of PPDA.
