The Director of the Intelligence and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova, Alexandru Musteata, and the Deputy Head of the Anti-Terrorist Center of the SIS, Iulian Caraman, recently participated in an informal press club at the Center for Journalistic Investigations. The event was attended by investigative journalists from several media outlets and focused on a variety of topics related to national anti-terrorist policy, the interoperability of state institutions and international early warning networks, as well as regional security in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

During the press club, discussions centered around the security situation in the Republic of Moldova and the activities of the Anti-Terrorist Center, including existing protocols in case of terrorist incidents and the actions of the authorities and possible scenarios in light of recent bomb alerts in the country. The national anti-terrorist policy, the tasks and responsibilities of the SIS and other relevant authorities, national legislation, and projects aimed at improving efficiency and consolidation were also discussed. The participants analyzed risks from the perspective of anti-terror, as well as mechanisms and national procedures for responding to possible terrorist crisis situations.

This was the second informal press club organized by the Center for Journalistic Investigations that involved the leadership of the Intelligence and Security Service.
