State Ecological Inspectorate (SEI) has not identified any landslides caused by massive deforestation of woodland near the village Rautel .  Villagers posted a notification to this effect on the Corruption Map.

Residents of village Rautel informed us on the Corruption Map about deforestation on a massive scale that started in 2014 in the forest near the village. "Despite promises of restoring forest strips, nothing was done for land afforestation. The segment from the western part of the village, that is a steep rope started to slip as a result of cutting of trees. The cut trees were sold to villagers", complained inhabitants of Rautel.

After the notification was published, the State Ecological Inspectorate established a working group comprising employees of the Ecological Inspection Falesti, mayor of the village Rautel Tudor Istrati and specialist in land and cadaster relations Alexandru Toporet. They performed a control on woodland and segments at risk of slipping.  „ When the control in the forest with the surface of 19,14 hectares managed by Mayoralty Rautel was performed, technical works were not carried out. Trees are cut  on lands with perennial plantations by owners (Decision of the village Council Rautel No. 05/6 dated 10.12.2014  on the disposal of perennial plantations, approved based on the decision of the district Council Falesti dated 16.03.2015  and the Government Decision No.  743 dated 21.10.2015)", writes the response of the SEI.

Also, the authorities say that sanitation cuttings, clear-cuts and cuttings for ecological restoration are performed on the forest managed by the State Forest Enterprise Balti, following the forestry commitment issued by the Forest Research Institute, technical norms and authorizations of environment structures.

According to the State Ecological Inspectorate, landslides are not registered on the afforested land and the rubbish dump of the village where there is a steep rope, has not changed its configuration over the time.
