Representatives of the Norwegian company Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma AS and the British company Forensic Risk Alliance & Co, appointed by the Public Property Agency for the audit of MoldovaGaz's past debts to Gazprom and Factoring-Finance, started the documentation mission in Chisinau on Monday. Over the course of a week, auditors will work at the headquarters of "Moldovagaz" collecting information and documents related to the historical debt to the Russian concern "Gazprom". The first report is expected to be presented at the end of this year.

"British and Norwegian experts are studying the financial documents and agreements concluded in all the years by the Republic of Moldova with the Russian side, including the period before the creation of "Moldovagaz". It is done in order  to understand how was formed the historical debt for gas purchased from the Russian Federation by the right bank of the Dniester. By the end of the year, companies are expected to publish the first report, depending on the materials provided», says the APS press release.

Two companies were selected in July of this year, and the contract was concluded as a result of the procedure of direct negotiations, according to the Commission for Emergency Situations decision. The contract was signed in August, both companies will receive about 15.5 million lei, equivalent to 800 thousand euros.

The debt of the right bank of the Dniester for natural gas supplied by the Gazprom concern in 2021 amounted to about 715 million dollars, including penalties, and the debt of the left bank of the Dniester (Transnistria region) — about 7 billion dollars.
