The Center for Investigative Journalism from Moldova (CIJM) and the Association of Independent Press (API) invite investigative journalists and media interested in this field to the Forum of Investigative Journalists, which will take place on March 27-28 in Chisinau. The forum will serve as a meeting platform for investigative journalism professionals, where experiences and innovative approaches will be shared. On the sidelines of the event, investigative journalists from the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, and Kyrgyzstan will present their experiences in conducting impactful journalistic investigations.
The Forum will feature discussion sessions on investigative journalism challenges and impact, as well as on obtaining reactions from authorities. We will also discuss networks of investigative journalists, building alliances and networks of allies, reaching inaccessible audiences, and building bridges of trust. Additionally, training sessions will be organized on new documentation tools in databases, including new information platforms on public money, agricultural subsidies, and procurement in health and education.
A separate session will be devoted to ways of identifying resources for investigative projects, during which new opportunities for investigative journalists will also be announced. Women investigative journalists and databases of women experts will also be discussed.
At the Forum, journalists will benefit from the assistance of cybersecurity specialists, who will check journalists' computers upon request and provide advice on security measures. The CIJM lawyer will offer advice on the protection and security of journalists, including legal aspects and access to information of public interest.
To participate in the Forum, registration is required at the email addresses info@investigatii.md or mihaela.cibotaru@gmail.com. The contact persons are Mihaela Cibotaru and Olga Vîrlan.
