The Republic of Moldova will pay compensation of about 12,000 euros to an employee of a bank, unjustifiably held in pre-trial detention for almost a year.
The European Court of Human Rights ruled on October 26 in the case of O.P. v. the Republic of Moldova, according to which the applicant was detained for abuse of office committed by the bank's administrator. The case of the bank employee was among those qualified by the general prosecutor Alexandr Stoianoglo as politically instrumented cases.
