The National Integrity Authority (ANI) started on Monday another control procedure based on a self-notification from an investigation carried out by the Center of Investigative Journalism in Moldova (CIJM) between June 21 - 25, 2021. The integrity inspectors initiated the control into the property of a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), but did not specify his name.
Last week, ANI initiated the control into Ivan Ududovici's property following the publication by the Center of Investigative Journalism in Moldova of the investigation Socialist Counselors from Hancesti: huge property with a modest salary. The investigation on the Anticoruptie.md portal reveals that Ivan Ududovici, councilor of Hancesti district, and two of his sons, who served public positions, allegedly violated the regime of declaring personal property and interests. Ivan Ududovici and his wife declared for last year only incomes from the salary of 114,000 lei.
During that period, the investigation of the "Poor" prosecutors with apartments, houses and tens of thousands of euros donated by parents and relatives revealed that about 170 state prosecutors, out of the nearly 700, reported generous gifts last year. ANI also acted following this investigation which screened the property of all prosecutors.
Moreover, ANI acted following the publication of the investigation the Wealthy from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office by the CIJM, also last week. The authority initiated the control procedure into the property of two prosecutors and confirmed that one of them is Alexandru Cernei
