A few hours ago, prosecutors announced that they initiated the procedure of seizing the property of the Liberal-Democrat Vlad Filat who has been accused of corruption. Officially, the politician owns property and goods worth millions.

According to the income and property statement for 2014, MP Vlad Filat had a monthly salary of 10,395 lei and dividends worth 419.824 Euros from SC Kapital Invest Company SA. His wife, journalist Angela Gonta received as much as 202,000 lei from salary, copyright allowances and child indemnities.

Filat owns land with an area of ​​0.139 hectares, based on donation agreement in 2006, with a cadastral value of over one million lei (1,064,841 lei). Also, based on donation agreements, in 2006 he got other three properties - a house and two garages. Thus, Filat has a house with a total area of ​​180.2 square meters estimated at 3.23 million lei, two garages of 42.2 and 46.4 square meters respectively with a cadastral value of 146,000 and 180,000 lei. Also, former PM has an apartment of 80.7 square meters, estimated at over 507,000 lei.

As for movable property, in 2014 the Liberal Democrat declared two vehicles - a Toyota Corolla purchased in 2009 for 252,000 lei and a Porsche Cayenne, purchased in 2014 estimated at 900,000 lei.

Five cars were seized and brought in front of the National Anti-Corruption Center (NAC) on Monday, October 19.  These are: Mercedes Viano, Volkswagen Tuareg, Toyota Land Cruiser and Mercedes S-Class. These cars are included in the testimonies of Ilan Shor filed to prosecutors last week. According to the self-denunciation of Ilan Shor, the mayor of Orhei gave these cars to Vlad Filat. "At the request of Vlad Filat, the cars Mercedes Viano, two cars Volkswagen Tuareg, Porsche Macan, Toyota Land Cruiser were purchased during 2012-2014 through the companies which I managed.  The car Mercedes Viano he drives at present is registered under the name of the company Dufremall while the other cars were registered by persons affiliated to him, whom I do not know", says the self-denunciation of Shor.

Former Prime Minister together with his wife reported five bank accounts estimated at about 61,000 Euros, 22,000 dollars and 250,000 lei.

Filat also reported on his 95.37% of shares at SC Kapital Invest Company SA, worth 2.14 million Euros.

In a survey of the Center for Investigative Journalism, reporters showed that Filat did not give up on compensations envisaged in the case of SA Ipteh in April 2010 when the Supreme Court of Justice has decided to provide a sum of 320,000 Euros to shareholders. Prime Minister then, politician, co-owner at Ipteh through Kapital Invest Company, with a share of 49.63% of the company's shares, said that he would not take money from the state. Three years later, based on a reply of the Ministry of Finance at the request of the Centre for Investigative Journalism, the court's decision was fully executed. In the income statement filed during the campaign for parliamentary elections last fall, the politician said that he had raised dividends amounted at almost 15 million lei in 2012 and 2013 from SC Kapital Invest Company SA.
